Welcome to the TFL-approved fanlisting for the creator of many beloved characters, author Beverly Cleary.
"Quite often somebody will say, 'What year do your books take place?' and the only answer I can give is, in childhood."
— Beverly Cleary
A fanlisting is a place where fans of a certain subject can be listed to show their interest, get acquainted with other fans, and many other things.
Beverly Cleary started writing in the 50s for children who couldn't find books that would hold their interest. She started with Henry Huggins and his dog Ribsy, and moved on to create more, a few of which are Otis Spofford, Ellen Tebbits, Ralph S. Mouse, and Ramona Quimby, her most popular character.
As a child, her mother once told her, "The best writing is simple writing. And try to write something funny. People enjoy reading anything that makes them laugh." That advice proved to be the most influential in Cleary's stories.
To join this fanlisting, just three things are required.
- your name or plausible nickname
- access to an e-mail address (which you have the option of not showing online)
- your country of residence
If you have a site and want it listed with your name, firstly it must be child-friendly and child-safe, afterwards a link here must be placed somewhere easily accessible at the said site before I link you back (put up a code).
