Introduction
Hello, welcome to Shadows they fall, my layout archive! It’s where I keep all of my past creations, from the good to the bad, from shockingly amazing accidents to *coughs* those I have no idea why I decided they were good enough to put up. So, hope you have fun looking through all my triumphs and sorrows, and everything in between. Don’t trip on your way out! *waves*

I wanted to remove the copyrighted image and use a free stock image. But I couldn’t help myself and found a more recent photo of Lisa Loeb with a guitar that I kind of snuck in there. xD;; Also included lyrics that I didn’t use in the text of the main page. Still gotta give that nod to Lisa, haha!
I tried to keep it simple and understated. I also managed to make this layout responsive! WOOOOOO! Except for the header image, only a portion of it is visible… not that it’s really necessary.

Finally, the fall version of the … what am I calling them? … “Previous previous previous version”? Really? Hrm. *shrugs*
(Copy/paste/editing from the entry I wrote when I finished the layout, because I am writing this post almost 5 years later…)
It took me less than three years to complete this set, woohoo! I want to tweak that plaid layout and update it (and the spring dots version) so it matches this and the previous layout.
It took me almost three years to come up with the idea of a stripes pattern? I kept thinking of using houndstooth for fall, but no. So I am happy with stripes for fall. Well, stripes with a twist, inspired by a fashion design that popped up in Yahoo when I searched for “fall fashion patterns” images. Or something like that, I can’t find the image again.
I also like that each version has somewhat of a different vibe. This one’s kind of retro, ’60s or ’70s, I don’t know which; the Christmas plaid is more traditional; the spring dots is modern and cutesy; while the summer waves lets me use a “Japanese-y” design.
So, new thoughts… I write too much. I can’t edit it down any further! Ugh. Anyway. These layouts are now corny and wonky to me. I still like elements of each layout. But overall I don’t like … the whole thing. *shrugs* There’s too much I’d want to change, or maybe not enough? It would end up still essentially being the same design, or being a completely new one.
Oh, I think I wanted to change out the image for the dot part of the dot-net in the title. Depending on the time of the year it would be a pumpkin, or a pumpkin pie, or a leaf, or … something for Halloween. Jack-o-lantern? But I was too lazy to pay that much attention to my website. xD;

Last note, something borked on my blog so comments didn’t work, and I pretty much abandoned it to motivate me to move my blog to jeidai.com, but it didn’t work. Not even switching the layout to a blank default theme worked. I don’t know how long this (and the other three) layout(s) stayed up. Maybe a year or two? Maybe not even a year after this?

Layout created because I didn’t have a backup of my previous layout when I moved servers! hahahhaah I suck. Reused the same design, just with a different color palate, and my own photo of a flower this time.
